Testing With Kettle Moraine NAVHDA<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

We encourage every versatile gun dog to be NAVHDA tested, as these tests give great insight into where your dog\u2019s hunting abilities are at and serves as the foundation for improving our versatile breeds.  These tests are qualitative evaluations of proven performance standards in simulated hunting conditions.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We welcome any\/all NAVHDA members to join us in the tests that we host as handlers, volunteers or spectators.  We are sure you will have a pleasant experience!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kettle Moraine NAVHDA offers <\/span>Natural Ability (NA)<\/i><\/b>, <\/span>Gun Dog Test<\/i><\/b> (GDT) <\/i><\/b>and <\/span>Utility Test (UT)<\/i><\/b> tests annually.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2026 Kettle Moraine NAVHDA Test Entry Fees<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Natural Ability: $190<\/span> (+ Processing Fees)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gun Dog Test and Utility Test: $2<\/span>45 (+ Processing Fees)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test Eligibility:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

All dogs entered in NAVHDA tests must be registered with NAVHDA.  This registration number can be found on your dog\u2019s pedigree, or can be searched in the <\/span>NAVHDA Registry Database<\/span><\/a>.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All owners and handlers must be current <\/span>members of NAVHDA International<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dogs are eligible for Natural Ability testing up to and including the day they reach 16 months and 0 days of age.  Dogs over 16 months of age may be run for evaluation only, if space is available.  No prize classification can be awarded to a dog run for evaluation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no age restriction for the Utility or Gun Dog Test.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Test Entry Procedure:<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Option 1 (PREFERRED): Submit Test Entry online via NAVHDA Member Portal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Once testing dates are published to NAVHDA International (2026 tests have been confirmed by NAVHDA International as of 1\/7\/26), test entry requests can be submitted via NAVHDA Member Portal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Tests are marked as “accepting Waitlist Entries” through the month of January to allow for Kettle Moraine NAVHDA Chapter Members early access to test entry spots.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Option 2: Submit Form to Test Director<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. Download a current TEST ENTRY FORM<\/a> from the NAVHDA website.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Save the form to your computer.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Completely fill out the form with dog, owner, and handler information.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Email the electronic completed form to the Director of Testing at <\/span>kmnavhdatestsecretary@gmail.com<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. If a test spot is available, you will receive a return email with a payment link for the appropriate test entry fee.  You will have 72 hours to pay the entry fee in order to secure a position in the test.  Electronic payment (credit card, PayPal or Venmo accepted) is preferred.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Upon confirmation of your eligibility and payment, a confirmation email with test details will be sent to you.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. Test date is typically assigned 2-3 weeks prior to test date.  We strive to test as many dogs as possible during our testing season, but do attempt to accommodate test date preferences.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    8. Notification of cancellation of test entries should be communicated <\/span>as soon as possible<\/i><\/b> to the Director of Testing by <\/span>email<\/span><\/a>, phone or text (Brianne Miller, 608-774-9903).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
      \n\n\n\n

      Test Entry Cancelation and Refund Policy:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Test entry fees will be ONLY be refunded when following the below criteria.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Test entry fees will be issued a full refund if canceled more than 30 days before the test weekend OR at any time if there is a medical exemption for the handler\/dog. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      100% of the test entry fee will be refunded if a request is submitted, in writing by email, to the Test Director<\/a> accompanied by a verifying letter from a physician or veterinarian stating that the dog or handler should not participate in a test for medical reasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      No refunds will be issued if a test entry is cancelled within 30 days of the test weekend.<\/mark><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
